Tanisha Washington

Tanisha Washington is a proud Wilmington, Delaware native with a background in special education, leadership, and youth development. She holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, a master's degree in education with a focus on Teacher Leadership and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Tanisha began her career as a high school special education teacher and quickly found her passion in mentoring and coaching teens to become their best selves. In 2025, she joined the Give Something Back Foundation as the Delaware Program Coordinator, where she also supports students in D.C. and Maryland.
Tanisha believes her work is purpose-driven, and she’s committed to helping youth break barriers and live top-tier lives. Her goal is to build up Delaware’s Give Back scholars making sure every student feels seen, supported, and empowered. As an adoptive mom and advocate, she brings lived experience, compassion, and real-world perspective to her role. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring new food spots, and spending quality time with her husband and two children. Tanisha leads with faith, fire, and a heart for helping students thrive in school, in life, and beyond.
