This privacy policy applies to the general user of the Give Back website and describes how Give Back protects information you provide when you use this website. This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our website.  If you choose to use our website, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the website. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

There are two basic types of information that Give Back might collect: personal and non-personal information.

Personal information is information that contains identifiers such as your name, address, phone number, or email address and may also collect non-personal information from you such as an internet protocol address (typically referred to as an “IP address” and defined below) and browsing variables (like your web browser, referral links, or how much time you spent at our website). Although this information may on rare occasion be used to identify you, Give Back typically uses this information to improve your experience and the experience of other visitors to our website.

For a better experience while using our website, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, phone number, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you.

SMS-Communication related policy: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.  Message frequency varies per user. Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you visit our website, we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. Give Back currently only supports donations from its website, and no physical items will be shipped.

Give Back does not offer returns or refunds at this time.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Give Back does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age , sexual orientation or gender identity in the delivery of services to youth.

If you feel like you have been discriminated against by any member of the Give Back team, or by any of our supporting partners, we invite you file a complaint with procedures listed below.

How to report a complaint:

Give Back has a process whereby a participant can file complaint or concern regarding discrimination confidentially. To begin this process please contact our Human Resource Officer at: humanresources@giveback.ngo

This office will collect any information you provide them and will then investigate the alleged offense and take any corrective or disciplinary action needed. Investigations will be done in confidence, unless you directly ask that we reveal your identity. If you wish, we will notify you of any corrective or disciplinary actions taken.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Civil Rights Department of the Department of Justice regardless of whether you have reported the incident to Give Back internally. You report your claim using this website: https://civilrights.justice.gov/report/

Bilingual Services Policy

Give Back will make every effort to ensure that all youth in the program are provided equal access to the available services and information presented and provided regardless of their primary language. Recognizing that youth victims of crime can come from any background and culture we aim to deliver all program services in a way that recognizes individual’s language and cultural differences. Effective communication with program participants who are non-English speaking shall be achieved through bilingual staff, translated written materials, or contracted interpreter/translation services. We also recognize that often that while youth may be fluent in English, their parents or guardians may not so we can also provide the resources to those caretakers.

Whistleblower Protection Policy

Give Back intends to adhere to all laws and regulations that apply to the organization as well as to the written policies of the organization. This Whistleblower Policy is to ensure that any constituent of Give Back who feels the organization is not doing adhering to these laws, regulations and policies can report violations without fear of retaliation or reprisal.

Incidents that should be reported may include, but are not limited to:

  • questionable accounting practices;
  • misrepresentations to company officers or the accounting department (including deviation from full reporting of financial conditions);
  • breach of confidentiality; and/or
  • workplace harassment or abuse;
  • breach of Give Back policies;
  • illegal activity.

Pursuant to this policy, any Give Back employee, student, parent, partner, vendor or volunteer who becomes aware of any violation of federal, state, or local law or regulation, including any financial or ethical wrongdoing specific to Give Back policies, should immediately report the violation through our Compliance Reporting Hotline by calling 800-673-4312.

This line will be answered by an independent third party who will collect a brief report and forward it to an independent third-party agent “Agent” who is empowered by Give Back to conduct investigations into such complaints. Both the Agent and the answering service are under contract to not release any of the reporters personal or contact information to any Give Back Employee.

The Agent, upon receiving information about a potential violation will document that concern and report it to the Chair of the Compliance Committee (Chair). The Chair and the Agent will determine whether any additional investigation is required. If so, the Chair and Agent can determine who they would like to have involved in the investigation. This could be just the Agent, a combination of the Agent and committee members, just committee members, or any combination of these.

While employees of Give Back may be questioned relative to an investigation, under no circumstance will any employee of Give Back be involved in performing said investigation.
